WASHINGTON, D.C. - House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) expressed concerns about President Biden's foreign policy in a recent appearance on LiveNOW from FOX. Scalise highlighted the escalating tensions in the Middle East following Iran's attacks on Israel and emphasized the need for unwavering support for Israel's right to defend itself.

Scalise condemned Iran's direct involvement in attacks on Israel, stating, "Hamas, Hezbollah, are all funded by Iran ... Israel has a right to defend themselves. They always have. We've always stood by them in their right to self-defense." He underscored the importance of the longstanding partnership between the United States and Israel in implementing effective defense systems like the Iron Dome.

Regarding President Biden's approach to the situation, Scalise criticized the administration for what he perceived as weakness in dealing with Iran and its proxies. He called for increased sanctions on Iran, emphasizing the need to isolate the country and prevent it from funding terrorist activities.

Scalise also expressed disappointment in the Democrat Party's response to the escalating conflict, urging them to stand with Israel and denounce Iran's aggression. He warned about the risks of providing financial aid to Iran, stating, "Why, for goodness' sake, would you want to give them more money? ... That's why we want to see increased sanctions against Iran, punish them for the activities that they've been playing both indirectly and now directly against our ally, Israel."

In a broader context, Scalise highlighted the contrast between what he perceived as a stronger America under President Trump and the current perceived weaknesses in foreign policy under President Biden. He called for a return to a stance of strength and support for allies like Israel, emphasizing the need to confront adversaries who seek to exploit perceived weaknesses.

Scalise concluded by reiterating the importance of standing with Israel during challenging times, emphasizing the need to support the nation in defending itself against threats from terrorist organizations and hostile regimes.
