In a recent appearance on Fox Business Network’s Varney and Co., House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) criticized President Biden for his stance on Israel and border protection. He also took aim at Democrats for their unanimous vote against a citizenship question on the census, which he believes would prevent illegal immigrants from being counted towards apportionment for federal elections.

Scalise expressed disappointment with President Biden's approach to Israel, stating, “Well, if you look at where we are, Stuart, I mean, President Biden is failing on so many different fronts. But if you look at Israel... what he's done to Israel, walking away from our strongest ally in the Middle East is disgraceful."

The House Majority Leader also highlighted the efforts of House Republicans to counteract President Biden’s refusal to deliver aid to Israel. He outlined plans for legislation that would require the president to deliver aid, emphasizing the need for Israel to have tools necessary for self-defense.

On the topic of adding a citizenship question to the census, Scalise said: “President Trump tried to change that question... ultimately, an act of Congress can address this... every single Democrat basically said they want illegals to be counted in the census.”

He further criticized President Biden's immigration policies: “It sure explains a lot of why Joe Biden would keep an open border... He opened it up. He stopped construction of the wall. He ended Remain in Mexico. He mandated catch and release."

Finally, Scalise condemned antisemitic incidents on college campuses and claimed that some of these actions were funded by donors supporting President Biden. He detailed ongoing investigations into federal funding going towards institutions where such incidents have occurred.
