House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) appeared on Fox News' Fox & Friends to discuss the Senate open borders bill and the impeachment vote of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas. Scalise emphasized that President Biden has the power to reverse the border crisis but continues to shift blame. He also highlighted Mayorkas' dereliction of duty, resulting in the House voting to impeach him.

Scalise expressed concerns about the Senate's open borders bill, stating, "There's a whole host of issues that we have with this bill." He pointed out that the bill codifies catch and release, allows for more people to come in illegally, and makes it easier to make asylum claims in America. Scalise emphasized the importance of securing America's border, stating, "Anybody that looks at the border knows it's wide open." He added that the Biden administration has the legal authority to close and secure the border but has chosen not to.

When discussing Chinese nationals crossing the border with the help of TikTok, Scalise highlighted the seriousness of the situation. He mentioned that over 30,000 Chinese nationals have crossed the border, using a platform controlled by the Chinese Communist Party. Scalise emphasized that people from over 150 countries have crossed the border, including Middle Eastern countries, China, and other Asian nations. He criticized the Senate border bill for allocating over a billion dollars to process more people illegally and send them throughout the country, without any vetting or knowledge of their final destinations.

Scalise also addressed the vote to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas, stating, "The case has been made very strongly that he should be impeached." He highlighted Mayorkas' false statements and failure to secure the nation, which led to the impeachment proceedings.

Finally, Scalise discussed his successful recovery from cancer, expressing gratitude for the prayers and advancements in medical science. He encouraged people to seek early detection and follow their doctor's advice.

In summary, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise criticized the Senate open borders bill, emphasized the need to secure America's border, and highlighted the impeachment vote of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas. He also discussed the issue of Chinese nationals crossing the border and shared his own experience of successful recovery from cancer.
