House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) took to the House Floor today to express his unwavering support for Israel's right to defend itself against the heinous acts of Hamas. In his impassioned speech, Leader Scalise condemned the terrorist organization's vicious attacks and urged the United States to take decisive action against Iran for funding these acts of violence.

He proposed freezing the $6 billion dollars released to Iran by the Biden Administration and preventing the sale of Iranian oil on world markets. "We need to stand up against Iran's ability to sell oil on the world markets because they use those billions of dollars in funds to also augment and fund terrorism to groups like Hamas," he asserted.
The House Majority Leader further emphasized the importance of preventing the misuse of funds intended for other purposes. He urged Congress to freeze the $6 billion that had not yet been transferred, as it could potentially be used to support terrorism. "We can't stand by and let that happen, either," he warned.
In addition to addressing the immediate crisis, Leader Scalise called for a united front against anti-Semitism within the United States. He condemned the rise of anti-Semitic incidents during times of conflict and stressed the need to combat such hatred.
Expressing gratitude to his colleagues for their support, Leader Scalise commended the bipartisan effort behind the legislation. "425 co-sponsors on this piece of legislation shows that even in a divided Congress, we can come together when it's time to support our strongest ally in the region when they are under attack," he applauded.
