House Majority Leader Steve Scalise addressed the House of Representatives, expressing his support for the recently passed House Budget Resolution. He criticized Democrats for what he described as fear mongering regarding the resolution and accused them of opposing efforts to prevent a $4.5 trillion tax increase on American workers, families, and small businesses.

Scalise emphasized that the resolution aligns with the mandate given by voters to President Trump. He stated, "If everybody here listened to what the American people said in November, frankly, first of all, they would vote for this resolution because the resolution delivers on those commitments."

He further elaborated on the implications of a no vote: "The facts are a no vote imposes four and a half trillion in taxes that primarily hit middle and low-income families, not the millionaires and billionaires that [the Democrats] seem to want to demonize."

Scalise highlighted how Republicans aim to support average income workers: "We're going to give everybody an opportunity. Stand up for those hard-working people who want their shot at the American dream." He noted that House Republicans are fighting for individuals with an average income of $32,000 a year.

In closing remarks, Scalise praised President Trump for following through on campaign promises. He remarked, "Promises made and promises kept actually matter in this town... When this majority actually delivers, we're going to see on that board real soon who actually stands with the 77 million people of this country who said, we want this change."
