House Majority Leader Steve Scalise appeared on Fox Business Network's Kudlow to discuss the House Republican reconciliation bill. The bill is set to be reviewed by committee this week. Scalise emphasized tax cut extensions, increased work requirements, and integrity measures as key components of the legislation.

Scalise stated, "If you look at the various bills out there and the Senate's doing their own thing, there's only one bill that actually addresses all of the priorities and needs of President Trump and that's the House bill." He highlighted the importance of renewing Trump-era tax cuts and incorporating measures like "no tax on tips."

The reconciliation bill aims to address multiple issues, including defense spending and energy production. Scalise noted that it would open up American energy production from areas such as the Gulf of America to Alaska. He criticized previous shutdowns under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, stating, "President Trump is going to open it back up again."

The timeline for moving forward with the budget involves a planned vote in the Budget Committee. Scalise mentioned ongoing discussions to finalize details, noting recent meetings with President Trump. He stressed that not renewing tax cuts could lead to increased rates for about 80% of American families.

On economic stability, Scalise advocated for implementing work requirements and integrity measures. He argued these steps would reduce wasteful spending and improper payments while encouraging able-bodied individuals to join the workforce.

Regarding fiscal impact assessments, Scalise expressed frustration with the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), stating they have yet to provide a score on certain initiatives like those involving DOGE. Despite this, he believes significant financial benefits will arise from reciprocal tariffs and other measures proposed by President Trump.

Scalise concluded by affirming commitment to delivering results: “We’re going to deliver for President Trump and the American people.”
