Today, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise issued a statement in response to President Biden's recent executive action that bans offshore drilling across more than 600 million acres of federal waters.

Scalise criticized the decision, stating, "President Biden’s decision to shut down access to America’s critical offshore energy resources threatens our energy and national security and will result in higher energy costs for families and small businesses." He further expressed concern that the move would benefit OPEC nations and strengthen adversaries.

The statement emphasized a contrast with previous policies under President Trump. Scalise noted, "President Trump and Republicans know that American energy development is key to Making America Great Again, and we will work together to reverse these dangerous liberal policies."
