Steve Scalise expresses condolences on Jimmy Carter's passing

Today, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise from Louisiana expressed his sorrow over the death of former President Jimmy Carter. In a statement, Scalise acknowledged Carter's extensive service to the nation, which included roles as a naval officer, Georgia state senator, Governor of Georgia, and ultimately as President of the United States.

Scalise also highlighted Carter's significant contributions after his presidency through his involvement with Habitat for Humanity. "I join all Americans in saluting President Carter for his lifetime of service," he stated.

He concluded by offering condolences on behalf of himself and his wife: "Jennifer and I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the Carter family."
