House Majority Leader Steve Scalise announced the winners of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge for Louisiana's First Congressional District. The winning team, composed of Ujesh Chakravarty, Luca Cardinale, and Muhammad Khan from Haynes Academy for Advanced Studies in Metairie, Louisiana, developed an app named Minds2Heal.

Minds2Heal is designed to assist high school students in monitoring their mental health. It features a mood survey, calming games, a daily journal, and breathing exercises aimed at tracking and improving mental well-being.

“Congratulations to our 2024 Congressional App Challenge winning team of Ujesh Chakravarty, Luca Cardinale, and Muhammad Khan all from Haynes Academy! As a former computer programmer, I am impressed to see students from Southeast Louisiana take an interest in developing technology to help improve the lives of their peers, and I applaud their initiative to tackle everyday challenges with creativity,” said Leader Scalise.

The announcement was made in Jefferson, Louisiana. The competition encourages students to engage with coding and technology by creating applications that address various challenges.
