House Majority Leader Steve Scalise appeared on Fox News' "Fox and Friends" to outline the agenda House Republicans have planned for President Trump's first 100 days in office. Scalise stated that the focus will be on using reconciliation to reduce regulations, extend tax cuts, implement energy policies, and enhance border security.
Scalise emphasized the importance of renewing Trump-era tax cuts to prevent increases for families. He also highlighted the need for increased American energy production as a means to lower costs and reduce reliance on foreign countries like Russia, Iran, and Venezuela. Scalise mentioned that these initiatives would be part of a budget reconciliation bill.
He criticized current regulations that he claims harm American jobs and benefit foreign industries, particularly mentioning rules affecting gas stoves and combustion engines. Scalise suggested that these regulations should be eliminated to protect domestic employment.
On border security, Scalise noted President Trump's readiness to take action as part of their plan to steer the country back on track. He expressed gratitude towards voters for their support in electing Trump and Republican representatives.
