House Majority Leader Steve Scalise appeared on Fox Business Network's "Mornings with Maria" to discuss the alignment between House Republicans and President Trump on key issues. Scalise emphasized the collaboration on government funding, spending cuts, border security, tax policies, and energy initiatives.

Scalise highlighted the challenges faced in Congress due to what he described as a lack of cooperation from Senate Democrats. He stated, “If we just gave Chuck Schumer everything that he wanted and ended it this year...then Chuck Schumer would get about an extra $80 billion in new spending. President Trump, by the way, does not want that.”

The discussion also covered plans for early 2025 when Scalise anticipates working closely with President Trump on various legislative priorities. “In January...we are in sync with President Trump on the agenda starting day one,” Scalise said. He mentioned ongoing discussions about including tax measures in their initial legislative package.

On reconciliation efforts, Scalise noted agreement within his party: “The good news is we're in agreement on all the things we're going to do in the first few months.” The focus will be on border security, energy policy, and taxation.

Scalise addressed cybersecurity threats from China, expressing concerns over technology from companies like Huawei and ZTE. He pointed out bipartisan efforts to counter these threats but criticized current administration actions: “But Joe Biden has not been aggressive like you're going to see Donald Trump be.”

Scalise concluded by expressing confidence in future progress under Trump's leadership: “When President Trump comes in, I think you're going to be able to see we can go a lot further.”
