House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, alongside Speaker Mike Johnson, House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, and Conference Vice Chair Blake Moore, outlined the Republican agenda for 2025. The leaders expressed their commitment to addressing issues affecting American families from the outset of the new Congress.
Scalise emphasized collaboration within the party and with President Trump's transition team to ensure readiness for legislative action. "Well, a new day is coming indeed," he stated, highlighting a meeting with current and incoming members that was marked by enthusiasm and energy. He unveiled an ambitious schedule for the upcoming year aimed at fulfilling campaign promises.
The planned agenda includes efforts to lower energy costs, enhance border security, stabilize tax codes to prevent significant tax increases on families, and streamline federal regulations to support American manufacturers. "We're already working very closely...with the Trump transition team so that we can all hit the ground running," Scalise noted.
The leadership stressed their preparedness to work from day one of Trump's presidency. "That's what this Republican agenda is going to look like to deliver relief to those hardworking families who have been struggling for way too long," Scalise explained. Coordination between House and Senate leaders with Trump's team is underway ahead of Inauguration Day.
The Republicans aim to fulfill their mandate by executing plans laid out in their detailed calendar for 2025.
