House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and other key Republican leaders gathered in Washington, D.C., to discuss their plans for advancing President Trump's America First agenda. The meeting included Speaker Mike Johnson, House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, Conference Chair Lisa McClain, NRCC Chair Richard Hudson, Conference Policy Chair Kevin Hern, Conference Vice Chair Blake Moore, and Conference Secretary Erin Houchin.

Scalise expressed enthusiasm about the new leadership team. He stated, “I, too, want to thank our new members of this really strong, unified leadership team... We're really excited about the selections that our conference made today.” He also acknowledged Congresswoman Elise Stefanik's contributions as conference chair and her future role as UN ambassador. Scalise noted that Stefanik would be a strong leader at the United Nations representing America's values and views.

Discussing the direction under President Trump’s administration, Scalise remarked on the energy he observed during campaigns across swing districts with Trump. He emphasized their commitment to making America great again by securing borders and reducing food and energy costs for struggling families. Scalise highlighted that these efforts are in response to what he described as an overwhelming mandate from voters.

Scalise concluded by expressing pride in Speaker Mike Johnson's leadership role within the new Republican majority. He stated that Johnson was elected unanimously by members to continue leading as Speaker of the House.
