House Majority Leader Steve Scalise has expressed his approval following the Senate's passage of legislation to name a U.S. Post Office in Rayville, Louisiana, after the late Congressman-Elect Luke Letlow.
Scalise stated, "Luke Letlow left behind an incredible legacy and inspired so many with his passion for public service, including me. He was a strong leader who loved Louisiana and had a faithful heart." He emphasized that naming the post office in Richland Parish is a way to honor Letlow's dedication to public service and his community.
Rep. Julia Letlow also shared her sentiments: "I’m deeply touched by my Senate colleagues Senator Bill Cassidy and Senator John Kennedy, in addition to Majority Leader Steve Scalise, for their support to finalize the renaming of the Rayville Post Office in Luke’s honor. Luke deeply loved Richland Parish and spent countless hours learning about its history, I know he would consider it the recognition of a lifetime to have the Post Office named in his honor, and our family is so proud to see this fitting memorial to his legacy in the place we call home."
In May, Scalise spoke on the House floor about Congressman-Elect Letlow and commended the House for passing the bill.
