House Majority Leader Steve Scalise criticized the Biden-Harris Administration during an appearance on Fox News' "Fox and Friends." Scalise expressed concerns over President Biden's response to ongoing crises, including a port strike and rising inflation. He emphasized the potential economic impact of the strike, suggesting it could cost the economy $5 billion daily.
Scalise questioned the administration's decision to reverse sanctions on Iran, initially imposed by former President Trump. He argued that these actions have allowed Iran to fund terrorist activities globally. According to Scalise, "Iran's made about $100 billion...since Joe Biden took off those Trump sanctions."
Regarding domestic issues, Scalise highlighted high costs faced by American families. He criticized the administration for not utilizing the Taft-Hartley Act to intervene in the port strike: “President said we're just going to let it go on and wreck the economy.”
On Congress' involvement in resolving the strike, Scalise remarked, “There is none,” pointing out a lack of consensus between legislative chambers. He suggested technology and automation could enhance efficiency without reducing jobs.
Scalise also addressed border security and energy policies. He claimed bills aimed at securing borders and increasing domestic energy production were opposed by Biden and Harris: "Joe Biden came out, said he's against it. Kamala Harris said she's against it."
Throughout his interview, Scalise underscored a divide between Congressional Republicans and the current administration on key policy areas.
