A Slidell couple was arrested on March 12 in connection with an investigation into illegal narcotics distribution at a motel in the 58000 block of Tyler Drive near Gause Boulevard, according to a Mar. 24 statement from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives from the Narcotics Unit and Proactive Enforcement Unit contacted Tosh Humphrey, age 46, and Lucretia Bell, age 51, both residents of Slidell, during their operation at the motel. The two were found with nearly one ounce of powder cocaine and just under half an ounce of crack cocaine. Authorities said these substances were packaged in a way that is consistent with street-level drug sales.
In addition to cocaine, detectives reported seizing four gabapentin pills, about ten grams of marijuana, and eighteen Suboxone sublingual film strips from the suspects’ possession. Investigators noted that Humphrey was on federal probation for a previous conviction related to racketeering and cocaine distribution.
Humphrey was booked into St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on charges including distribution of Schedule II controlled dangerous substance (cocaine), possession with intent to distribute marijuana and cocaine, possession with intent to distribute Suboxone (a Schedule III controlled substance), transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a legend drug.
Bell was also booked into the correctional center facing similar charges: distribution of Schedule II controlled dangerous substance (cocaine), possession with intent to distribute cocaine and Suboxone (Schedule III), transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a legend drug.
The arrests are part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies in St. Tammany Parish to address illegal narcotics activity within the community.
